There is a lot of work going on around the ruins at present, and also on the ruins themselves.
In addition to the work on the arbour itself, some preparation of the ground in front of the arbour has now been carried out.

Art in the Park
Our recent event in the Park (illustrated by the excellent photographs in previous posts) was an introduction to FoPP's latest venture.
Maintaining our commitment the community and other local organisations we are raising funds to have a piece of artwork in the form of a stylised Rose (shown above), to be placed appropriately in the Rose Garden adjacent to Priory Hall.
This is the work of a local student and the artists impression has gained wide approval. The event raised the sum of £ 227 all of which will go towards the cost of making this happen. Thanks to all who attended and helped organise the event.

More pictures from Sunday's event
First, a couple more example of face painting (the final ones come tomorrow).
Below: Members of the committee of Friends of Priory Park, with local Councillors Alan Finch and Margaret Aston, who have been staunch supporters of the Friends for many years.
The ice cream van which stopped by the park was very popular with those attending our event, and the driver kindly gave us a donation.

Weekend fundraising event
The fundraising event last weekend was very successful, and we had lovely weather. Here are a few images from the event - as you will see, the face painting was particularly popular. I'll post some more pictures from the event tomorrow.
The little group below was seen on one of the stalls at the event.
